The Grayson County Democratic Committee will hold an assembled caucus on Saturday, April 19th, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Grayson County Courthouse Boardroom. The purpose of the caucus will be to select delegates and alternates to the 2008 State Convention and the 9th Congressional District Convention.  The Grayson County caucus will select four delegates and two alternates to the State and 9th Congressional District Conventions. Any person interested in being a candidate for delegate or alternate at the caucus must prefile with Sarah Hauslohner, Chair of the Grayson County Democratic Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14th, 2008.

Doors to the caucus will open at 11:00 a.m. on April 19th for check-in. All participants at the caucus shall sign a standardized Caucus Participation Form stating that he or she is a Democrat, does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic nominee in the next general election, believes in the principles of the Democratic Party, and is a registered voter in Grayson County. At 12:00 noon the doors to the caucus will be closed and no person may complete a form and participate in the caucus after that time with the exception of those persons standing in line at noon.
In the event that only one person files for each delegate or alternate position, the caucus will be cancelled. In this event the chair will publicly announce the cancellation of the caucus and proclaim the individuals properly filed as the duly nominated delegates and alternates.
