MLK Parade

March with us in the MLK parade!

Grayson County Democrats
We will gather Saturday, January 13, 10:45 at 400 S Travis Street in Sherman for the 14th Annual Grayson County Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade.

Starting at noon, the route goes north on Travis from 1st Baptist church to Brockett, east to Austin College. Celebrating the life of MLK will continue with a service at Mabee Hall in the Robert J & Mary Wright Campus Center complete with speakers and choirs. It’s going to be a great event.

Wear your GCDP tee shirts and lots of layers. Weather predicted to be sunny and cold. If you have a sign relevant to MLK or Democrats, or can make one, please bring it. The theme is Grasp the Dream.

Gary is providing 3 vintage military vehicles for the parade – a Dodge command car, a Dodge pick-up with bench seating and a military jeep. The jeep will seat about 3, the Dodge command car will hold about 5. The Dodge pick-up has bench seats on each side and will hold about 9. That will give seating for about 15. I hope we can get as many folks as we had at the Sherman parade in Dec.

This is a great opportunity to interact with groups outside the Democrats. Let’s spread the word to build a great event. Contact Jan Fletcher, 972- 897- 5 7 9 6
