October, 2010
You know the problems caused by the Republicans running Grayson County….You also know county politics SHOULD be non-partisan but Republicans have made it that way.
~ AND THEY WASTED $500,000 ON A PRISON/JAIL “BOONDOGGLE”
TO LINE THE POCKETS OF A PRIVATE COMPANY WITH TAX DOLLARS.
They even agreed to pay double the cost per acre and buy three times more land than
needed… again using tax dollars to benefit a private company!
~ THEY SPENT OVER $125,000 ON A PRIVATE LAWYER INSTEAD OF USING
THE COUNTY ATTORNEY… TAX DOLLARS TO PRIVATE COMPANIES!
~ THE ENTIRE REPUBLICAN COURT VOTED TO “SILENCE” THE PUBLIC!
After public opinion stopped their jail boondoggle, they took “PUBLIC COMMENT” from the Agenda with Commissioner Whitlock saying a citizen had to” have his permission” to even be on the Agenda!
AND NOW, THERE’S A REPUBLICAN RUNNING FOR COUNTY TREASURER WHO HAS SAID IT WILL BE A SECOND JOB FOR HIM!
He’s indicated he plans to maintain his current business clients if elected!
READY TO STAND UP FOR SELF & FAMILY?
READY TO STOP USING TAX DOLLARS FOR PRIVATE COMPANY PROFIT?
THEN VOTE!
~ Early Voting Oct 18-28: Sherman Courthouse & Denison & Sub – Courthouse. ~ ~ Election Day: Nov. 2 @ precinct polling sites county-wide.
VOTE BECAUSE DEMOCRATS WILL:
1. RESTORE PUBLIC COMMENT. Democrats know “all of us are wiser than any one of us.” We’ll encourage the public to come to the Court and have a dialogue about their needs. This Court typically lasts only 15-30 minutes and there’s no time to hear from the taxpayer?
2. WORK FULL DAYS & WEEKS. No more “part-time” work for full-time pay.
3. PROHIBIT “BUSINESS CONFLICTS OF INTEREST.” No elected officials should have any business relationship with the County.
4. PRESENT A PLAN TO CUT OVER $600,000 FROM THE COUNTY BUDGET WITHOUT REDUCING SERVICE.
– $150,000 Eliminate “guards” at Justice center/Sheriff’s Office.
– $125,000 plus, Utilizing County Attorney NOT private lawyers.
– $ 150,000 Minimum using a Central Barn for large equipment.
– $ 200,000 Commissioners serve as job foremen, not delegate.
