Biden Brings Rural Broadband to Texas

Thanks to President Biden’s leadership, countless Texans – especially rural Texans and Texas’ ranching and farming families – will soon be able to access the reliable, affordable broadband they need to run their businesses, do their homework, and stay connected to loved ones!

Thanks to President Biden’s leadership and once-in-a-generation investments in American communities, the BEAD (Broadband Equity Access and Deployment) Program will provide Texas with an additional $3.31 billion in funding to help bring reliable high-speed internet to communities across the state, the highest funding allocation of any state in the country.

MAGA Republicans, including vulnerable junior senator and thrice-weekly podcaster Ted Cruz, voted against the funding for this massive internet expansion in Texas.

  • Here’s how President Biden’s Invest in America agenda has already helped Texans get connected:
    • Under the Biden-Harris Administration, Texas has already received $5.3 billion in funding to provide affordable, reliable high-speed internet to everyone in Texas.
    • Now, Texas will receive an additional $3.31 billion from the Administration’s historic Broadband Equity Access and Deployment Program.

    • There are 1.4 million households in Texas saving $30-75 per month on high-speed internet through the Biden-Harris Administration’s Affordable Connectivity Program.
