Grayson County Democratic Party Convention

County Convention March 21, 2026

Grayson County Democratic
Party Convention
This Saturday, March 21, 2026
Location: Sherman Courthouse,
East Courtroom, Second Floor
Time: 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

The energy from this year’s Democratic primaries in Texas has been nothing short of incredible. Across Texas, Democratic turnout surged, and for the first time in decades during a midterm cycle, more Texans voted in the Democratic primary than in the Republican primary. Here in Grayson County, we made history by casting over 5,700 ballots—breaking records. That’s more than double the number voting in the Democratic Primary in 2024.

That kind of momentum happens when people are engaged, hopeful, and ready to organize. Now, we need to keep that energy going by taking the next crucial step: participating in our County Convention.

Every two years, following the primary election, Grayson County Democrats convene to conduct important party business and elect delegates to the Texas Democratic Convention. It is where we take the energy from the primary and turn it into the organized force that will carry us to victory in November.

At the county convention, Democrats come together to:
• Adopt resolutions—policy positions the party supports
• Elect delegates to the state convention
• Conduct party business, including rules, leadership, and organizing priorities

On Saturday, March 21, at the Sherman Courthouse, Democrats from across Grayson County will gather to do exactly that. This is where you help shape the party.

To be eligible as a delegate at our County Convention, you must meet one of these criteria:
• You voted in the Democratic Primary in the same year as the convention.
• You did not vote in the Republican Primary and are willing to sign an oath of affiliation to the Democratic Party. This includes voters who were not old enough to vote during the primary but will be 18 by the November general election.

Voting in the Republican primary makes you ineligible to participate in our Democratic County Convention.

Pre-register today! Pre-registering helps us plan, pre-qualify delegates, and ensure a smooth check-in process.

Logistics:
The south and west doors will open at 8:30. The north and east doors are locked. If you’re not registered, 8:30 is the time to arrive in order to allow time for you to register. The more people who have pre-registered, the sooner we may convene. If you haven’t already, please pre-register HERE.

Doors will lock at 10:00 a.m. and anyone arriving after that time will need to call someone who is already at the convention to come let them in. Light snacks and drinks will be provided. Bring your own joy. We are the ones!
