Grayson County Democratic The energy from this year’s Democratic primaries in Texas has been nothing short of incredible. Across Texas, Democratic turnout surged, and for the first time in decades during a midterm cycle, more Texans voted in the Democratic primary than in the Republican primary. Here in Grayson County, we made history by casting over 5,700 ballots—breaking records. That’s more than double the number voting in the Democratic Primary in 2024. That kind of momentum happens when people are engaged, hopeful, and ready to organize. Now, we need to keep that energy going by taking the next crucial step: participating in our County Convention. Every two years, following the primary election, Grayson County Democrats convene to conduct important party business and elect delegates to the Texas Democratic Convention. It is where we take the energy from the primary and turn it into the organized force that will carry us to victory in November. At the county convention, Democrats come together to: On Saturday, March 21, at the Sherman Courthouse, Democrats from across Grayson County will gather to do exactly that. This is where you help shape the party. To be eligible as a delegate at our County Convention, you must meet one of these criteria: Voting in the Republican primary makes you ineligible to participate in our Democratic County Convention. Pre-register today! Pre-registering helps us plan, pre-qualify delegates, and ensure a smooth check-in process. Logistics: Doors will lock at 10:00 a.m. and anyone arriving after that time will need to call someone who is already at the convention to come let them in. Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
