A history town hall, with experts on the 1930 Sherman Riot, presented by the Historical Marker for the 1930 Sherman Riot.
We have an awesome panel lined up:
Dr Felix Harcourt: Austin College Professor who will discuss the socialogical, economic, and political aspects of the 1930’s
Mark Spencer: An author who wrote an extensive paper about the riot will talk about the overall events of May 9th
Dr Kumler: Wrote her PhD thesis about the riot and will discuss the impact to the Sherman Black Community
Terrence Steele: Sherman Assistant City Manager will give an update on the work to commemorate the black business district on Mulberry Street
Melissa Thiel: The Historical Marker status and the way ahead.
