A Celebration in collaboration with the Faith Church of Sherman
with Pastor Charles and Mary Jo Glass

- August 29, 2015 ; 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Refreshments to follow in Fellowship Hall.
- To celebrate the Life and Legacy of our Mother; your Friend and Sister in Christ the Late Jo Ann Perkins; in songs of uplifting Praise and Worship.
- Proceeds of this event, minus any that the Faith Church address, be sent directly to the Grayson County College “Jo Ann Perkins/NAACP Scholarship Fund”.
- Tina Dodson, Director of Annual Giving at Grayson County Jr College will be in attendance.
- Roger D. Sanders or proxy of Sanders, O’Hanlon & Motley, P.L.L.C. bestowed the Endowment of $10,000 for the initial funding of the scholarship (2013) is expected to be in attendance.
- The Democratic Women of Grayson County presented the Endowment Award in August 2013 at the Annual NAACP & Sherman – Denison Minister’s Alliance Banquet.
- The Democratic Women of Grayson County presented the Ann Richards Award (2012) to Jo Ann Perkins.
- Kenneth W. King, Senior Pastor of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas, TX will be the Master of Ceremony. Rev. King was the former Pastor of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Denison, Texas. He was Jo Ann Perkins’ Pastor at the time of her death.
The following will render songs of uplifting praise & worship:
- Faith Church of Sherman, TX – Sanctuary Choir will render 2 selections.
- Faith Church of Sherman, TX – Children’s Choir will render 1 selection.
- Pastor R. A. Sommers, Sr. of Sherman, TX will render 1 selection.
- Greater Coffey Memorial Church of God In Christ of Denison, TX – Elder James Hunt, Senior Pastor – Adult Choir will render 2 selections.
- Mount Vernon Baptist Church of Denison, TX – Rev. Jerry Dehorney, Senior Pastor- will render 2 selections.
- Jo Ann’s children, (Angela,Steven, Joyce Ann)/Christopher (Grandson)/Beverly (Niece) will perform the closing song of the evening.
- DVD’s of the entire service will be available for purchase.
