Instead of taking action to prevent the next El Paso, Sutherland Springs, or Santa Fe mass shooting, Republicans in Texas are:

• Working to erode the separation of Church and State by passing a bill in the Senate mandating that the Ten Commandments be in every classroom.
• Going after professors at public universities by passing a bill in the Senate eliminating tenure.
• Introducing legislation to ban polling places at colleges and universities.
• Pushing to raise the penalty for illegal voting from a misdemeanor to a felony.

Instead of taking action to enact common-sense gun reforms, Republicans in Texas are going after people’s basic rights.
