The Democratic primary was held in Texas on March 1, 2016. Hillary Clinton won 65% of the vote to Bernie Sanders’ 33%. Total votes – Clinton: 935,080 and Sanders: 475,561.
Texas will send 222 delegates to the national convention in Philadelphia. Based on the March 1 election results, Clinton won 147 delegates, Sanders 75. That’s proportional; 147 is 66% of 222, and 75 is 34% of 222.
Grayson County votes were a little closer, with Clinton winning 1,940 to 1,687 of 3,718 votes. 1
The Grayson County Democratic Party has 29 delegates to the State Convention in San Antonio. We are united with vastly similar goals. Some of us differ about how to accomplish these goals and about who is best suited to get the job done as the leader of this country, but Texas Democrats have spoken and have made their choice clear. The Grayson County Democratic delegation consists of 18 committed to elect Hillary Clinton and 11 for Bernie Sanders.

The biggest problem facing the world today is climate change and ultimate destruction of human life on earth if we don’t change our dirty ways. If the Republicans are in power in this country, we are doomed to extinction. Republicans, like our Rep. John Ratcliffe and Sen Ted Cruz, who are up for reelection in 2018, and Sen. Cornyn (2020), are owned by dirty coal and oil interests. We cannot allow a Republican to become President of the U.S. under the current conditions. And we certainly don’t want nuclear weapons in the hands of a madman.
Remember two things: Fox News is a slick, well-crafted, right-wing propaganda generator, not a news outlet. When they produce a poll showing anything, it’s not legitimate. Their polls are produced for the specific purpose of propagating a conservative, right-wing slant on events. Secondly, all major news outlets today are controlled by corporations that stand to gain when Republicans are elected. Lower tax rates for the upper class, less regulations like the fairness doctrine, 2 and global domination which is always good for business. “When we turn to commercial news networks to find out what’s happening in the world, all we get is static: that veil of distortion, lies, misrepresentations and half-truths that obscure reality.” 3 There’s nothing wrong with Clinton’s email system. In fact, I hope she uses it as President. Hers wasn’t hacked.
We must all vote for Democrats in November, especially for President of the United States.
The most radical thing we can accomplish in 2016 is to elect a left-of-center Democratic woman President of the United States. Misogynists will curl up and devour themselves. Just add salt. With our support, and with the election of more Democrats in the Senate and House, we will make great progress during the next 8 years, paving the way for Elizabeth Warren to move the pendulum even further toward government for the people.

2 [Wikipedia] The Fairness Doctrine was a policy of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC), introduced in 1949, that required the holders of broadcast licenses both to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was honest, equitable, and balanced. The FCC eliminated the Doctrine in 1987. Who was president in 1987?
