Today, March 2nd, we celebrate the birth of Texas, and our shared history of the independent spirit that has been passed down to all Texans for generations. Today, I also invite you to be among the first to see our new campaign website.
While many Republican politicians continue to ignore our children and our schools, we can stand up for the future of our state by demanding that David Dewhurst support a special session to fund education. I think if Mr. Dewhurst is not willing to do the job he was elected to do, then he should resign the office of Lieutenant Governor. It is time to tell Dewhurst that our children are not political pawns, and demand he make public education a priority.
In addition to the petition to support our children, you can sign up to volunteer and join the campaign, share your family’s story and your ideas with my campaign team, and contribute to our campaign. Please join me at SadlerforSenate.com where you can learn more about my record of leadership in Texas, and where I stand on the issues that matter most to our families.
Today we are also launching Educators for Sadler, a new program that is especially near and dear to my heart. During my years in the Texas Legislature, I worked session after session to rewrite our education code, to provide teachers with health insurance and pay raises, and to provide funding for critical early education programs. I hope Texas educators, as well as parents and grandparents of our school children, will help our campaign by sharing your story on how the failed leadership of the Perry/Dewhurst administration has personally affected your families, children, and our education system.
As I continue to travel across this state meeting with concerned families, I would appreciate your contribution to my campaign. With your help, we can put our families first not politics.
