President Donald Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan have cancelled a vote in the House of Representatives to repeal the Affordable Care Act. This is a great victory for us and millions of others who fought to preserve our health care. Most importantly, it is a remarkable win for the 24 million people who would have lost health insurance under Trumpcare. Keep fighting!
This is a testament to the millions of Americans who have stood up and made clear that health care is a right, not a privilege. For the last several weeks, we have worked to speak truth to power about how devastating the GOP health care plan would be for the most vulnerable among us. We have made calls, written cards, signed petitions, and taken to the streets in defense of the progress we’ve made under the Affordable Care Act.
It worked. We should be proud in the knowledge that we were successful, but we must remain focused because this will not be the last time Trump and the Republicans attempt to gut Obamacare.
