Abbott Backs Out of Debate

Today Greg Abbott backed out of the WFAA debate, long planned for Sept. 30.

  • It’s no surprise that Greg Abbott is pulling out of a long planned debate the day after he was defeated in court for defending billions in public education cuts that have led to overcrowded classrooms, teacher layoffs and shuttered schools.
  • Greg Abbott is clearly afraid to defend his record of siding with his wealthy buddies at the expense of Texans — whether it’s defending cuts in funding for classrooms, siding with a corporation against a victim of rape or letting his donors take tens of millions of taxpayer dollars intended for cancer research.
  • This is nothing short of an insult to the voters of Texas.

TWEETS

.@GregAbbott_TX too afraid to defend record of siding against Texans and only caring about insiders/donors.

.@GregAbbott_TX disrespects TXans again&denies them ability 2 hear him try 2 defend his record siding against them.

Dan Patrick has only scheduled ONE debate with Leticia Van de Putte. Yet he participated in over TWENTY debates in the Republican primary for lieutenant governor.

Glenn Hegar? He apparently can’t find Mike Collier’s number. (We’ve got it Glenn, give us a ring.)

And Ken Paxton? Maybe he’s afraid to debate Sam Houston after admitting he committed a felony.

Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick, Glenn Hegar, and Ken Paxton are afraid of the public because they know their extremist agenda doesn’t reflect Texas values.

Donate right now — we’re holding these guys accountable online and in the press, but we can’t do it if you don’t give:
